German Grammar Course

A free, structured German course from A1 to B2.

This is the complete Vega Publishing German grammar course: ten free units that take you from your first der, die, das decision to full control of adjective endings. The sequence follows the order German is actually acquired: gender first, then the present tense and the verb-second rule, the accusative and dative cases, separable and modal verbs, the Perfekt, the preposition system, subordinate clauses, and finally the adjective ending tables that tie every earlier unit together.

Every unit works the same way. You get a plain-English explanation, full tables you can screenshot, original example sentences with translations and grammar notes, a pronunciation block with IPA and say-it-like-this hints, and a drill with a complete answer key. Read the explanation, say every example out loud, then do the drill before you look at the answers.

Work through the units in order, one or two per week. Each unit builds directly on the last: you cannot control two-way prepositions before the accusative and dative are solid, and adjective endings only make sense once articles and cases are automatic. If a unit feels easy, do the drill anyway. The drill is the part that makes it stick.

The course pairs with the German learning path and the Vega German library. German Grammar Klar Volume 1 expands the A1 to A2 units with graded exercises, Volume 2 does the same for B1 to B2, and Der, Die, Das Decoded turns the article and ending system into one visual grid. For input alongside the grammar, the German Easy Reader stories and German Conversation Practice give you the same structures in running text and dialogue.
