French Grammar Course

This is a complete, free French grammar course, built as ten ordered units that carry you from absolute beginner (A1) to upper intermediate (B2). Each unit teaches one core system of the language: articles and gender, the present tense, the two past tenses, pronouns, the subjunctive, and everything in between. Every unit includes plain-English explanations, original example sentences with translations, a pronunciation block with IPA, and a self-check drill with full answers.

Work through the units in order. The sequence is the syllabus: each unit assumes only what came before it, so an A1 beginner can start at unit one today, and a returning learner can jump to the band that matches their level. Read the explanation, say every example out loud, then do the drill before looking at the answers. If you miss more than two drill items, reread the unit before moving on.
